Child Accident Claim: Injury On Building
Site
Child suffers leg injury in accident on
unfenced building site

This was a serious child accident claim following an incident on a building site.
An 11 year old boy had been playing with a friend on a buiding site. They had been able to enter the site
without any problem as it was unfenced - despite the fact that there were various items of building machinery lying
around, as well as some small skips.
The boys had started to play on the skips. One of the skips tipped over and trapped our client's leg causing him
a serious leg injury. In fact, he suffered a fractured tibia and fibula.
The first problem was to identify the company responsible for the building site. After lengthy negotiations,
they finally conceded that the site should have been secured.
The Court approved a settlement of £11,000.00 for our client. Our own costs were recovered
separately.
