Compensation claim for lorry driver after badly loaded mattresses lead to a back injury

This back injury claim was made on behalf of a lorry driver who had been unloading mattresses from his lorry.

He had to deliver the mattresses and unload them by himself. On this occasion, his employers had not loaded them properly, and as he tried to pull one of the mattresses out he suffered an injury to his back.

He approached Dominic Goward & Co. to find out whether he had a legitimate claim against his employers. We advised him that his claim was quite valid, and initiated the claim on his behalf.

Initially, his employers denied liability, and so we started Court proceedings. Shortly afterwards, we were told that our client's employers wanted to negotiate a settlement after all. Our client received compensation of £2,000.00.

Our own legal fees were covered separately, so our client received his compensation in full.
